Don’t worry this is not as stressful as meeting your significant other’s family for the first time. Just a quick introduction to the main players in our focus to slow down and make our family a priority.
My husband – Thomas is my college sweetheart. We met the first week of my freshman year speed dating. So funny, as he is an introvert and I didn’t want to meet anyone to date. We dated throughout college and then were married a year after I graduated. We have been together since 2002, which seems like a lifetime ago, but also just like yesterday. I would not want to do life with anyone else, he is my calm, laid back person in life, and a wonderful father to our kids.

Our Daughter – Harper (4.5)
She made me a mom and I was over the moon excited when we found out we were having a girl, I have always known I wanted a daughter, but never knew how much I could love another human being, she has shown me a deeper love than I could have imagined. Her spunky, shy and adventurous spirit keeps us on our toes, but our lives are enriched by seeing the world through her eyes.

Our Son – Thomas Jr. (2)
I never thought I would have a son, that sounds very odd, but I didn’t grow up with boys and know very little about what to do with them. Que the laughter, I know it sounds silly, but when I found out I was pregnant with a boy, it was a shock. How was I going to raise a boy, I have no idea what they do. My husband of course was over the moon to have a little Thomas, our life is beyond blessed to have such a sweet, curious and energetic boy. I learn more things on a daily basis about what boys and girls do at each stage of life, but I know God knew what he was doing when I became the mom of a little boy.

Our Dogs – you didn’t think I forgot did you?
Figaro Beauregard “Figgie” – Beagle Jack Russell Mix
Elaine Benes “Laney” – Beagle Mix
Fig and Laney were both adopted through Triangle Beagle Rescue but have become a part of our family since day one. Thomas and I had been married for almost a year and could not figure out what our gift should be for our first anniversary. What better gift than a dog, right! We now needed to figure out what type of dog we wanted, we lived in a townhouse at the time so didn’t have a yard and were concerned with space. My husband didn’t want a small fluffy dog, direct quote. We agreed on a beagle and have been hooked ever since. They are loyal, sweet, loving animals, with the most stubborn streak, but have become part of our family and will pass on a long legacy of dog lovers through our kids. Que the tears, they are my babies and have welcomed our daughter and son into our home with grace and only a few destroyed toys.
We get the question a lot….when are you going to have more children. Yes, really people ask that a lot! We are very blessed to have 2 healthy, happy children and think our family is perfect. Not in the plans to have more kids, but who knows what life brings, so that is our family and I hope you enjoy my blog about our life and what works for us.
So very excited you are here and pray our little slice of life brings you joy.
Family– the most precious and worth fighting for in life. It’s everything!
